Photography Guidelines

As part of your treatment, we encourage you to take your own photographs, but please only send images after we have agreed to do so. For your reference, here are some guidelines to follow to ensure a successful result along with examples of well-shot photographs:

  • See the image examples here for taking photographs of the face and jaw
  • Use a high quality digital camera (NOT a webcam or cell phone camera)
  • Turn the camera to landscape or portrait orientation depending on the area to be photographed
  • DO NOT take your own photographs! Have someone else do it for you toensure correct framing, orientation, and size
  • Use good lighting!
  • Submit only the number of photographs in the examples and no more
  • Image files can be huge! To make sure they can be sent by email, set the camera to a lower resolution, or compress the images before sending them via email to:

If you have any questions about how to take your own photos please ask our office.

Preparing for Your Surgery

Prior to your surgery, Dr Deschamp-Braly will provide guidelines and recommendations to help you prepare for your procedure. Preparations discussed include diet, exercise and medications. We will provide all the informational material for you at your initial consultation, so you know what steps you should take to ensure you prepare properly.

Safety and Surgery

All surgical procedures contain inherent risks. However, Plastic Surgery is generally considered safe when performed by a competent surgeon in a safe hospital or surgery center environment.

Dr Deschamp-Braly and his team are fanatical about every aspect of your care and safety. As a highly skilled surgeon, Dr Deschamp-Braly is constantly evaluating new techniques and procedures to ensure his patients receive the best treatments without compromising safety.

Our administrative and surgical team attend to every detail of your care to help you feel confident and secure knowing you are in expert hands.

Financial and Insurance

We used to be In-Network for most major carriers.  Because of the changing healthcare reimbursement landscape this is no longer possible.  We work with insurance as an “Out-Of-Network” provider only for Orthognathic Surgery.  Our pediatric cases at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland are still billed “In-Network” through HappySkulls.
Other than these two exceptions we do not work with health insurance companies.

Concierge Services

San Francisco hosts many excellent concierge services to make your stay and surgery more comfortable.

We ask that patients, who are not required to stay overnight in the hospital, stay at one of the many hotels listed below that are less than one block from our office. This allows us to keep a close eye on you during the critical recovery phase during the first and second days after surgery.

To ensure you eat well, have energy and keep your recovery on track, we have compiled a list of some excellent restaurants and cafes in our area.
