Question:
How is a Rhinoplasty performed?

Answer:
Rhinoplasty can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on your desired outcome. There are two types of rhinoplasty, closed and open. A closed rhinoplasty is often performed under local anesthesia in which incisions are made only within the nostrils, allowing limited results. An open rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia wherein incisions are made within the nostrils and beneath the base of the nose allowing for maximum surgical flexibility in structure, shape and size, including corrections to deviated septum and excision of turbinates. Rhinoplasty, open or closed, leaves minimal to no scarring.
